Canadian-born, Italian-raised artist, cinematographer, photographer, editor, colorist, and creative director whose career has been spent chasing one thing: the story hidden inside the image.
Born in Toronto and raised in Italy from the age of ten, Sergio discovered the visual arts at an art school in Bari, where design, photography, and Italy itself became his education. He would later spend more than three decades moving between photography, graphic design, art direction, cinematography, film editing, and creative direction.
His work has taken him across Italy, Europe, South Africa, Jordan, Taiwan, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Guatemala, the Amazon, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Torngat Mountains, and Alberta—often travelling far beyond the familiar to document people, cultures, landscapes, and stories.
He has worked with international magazines, brands, tourism organizations, and production companies, including Outpost Magazine, where he served as Creative Director, lead photographer, and cinematographer. His screen credits include Tan Your Mind, opXpeditions, and Global Heroes' It's a Beautiful World, for which he also handled editing, color grading, and sound.
But Sergio's real strength has never been limited to one discipline.
He is the person behind the camera who understands what happens before it rolls and what happens after it stops—from concept, lighting, lenses, production and cinematography to editing, color, sound, and the final frame.
He once described Italy as “the planet's greatest gallery.” Perhaps that explains the rest.
He never really stopped travelling. He simply learned to travel through images.
Today, Sergio continues to work across cinematography, photography, filmmaking, post-production, and creative direction, developing new stories and new ways of telling them.
